About

Exploring the Perspectives of d/Deaf Emerging Adults on Mental Well-being through Photovoice is a one-day public gallery exhibition showcasing participant-led photographs, captions and reflective outputs exploring the mental well-being experiences of d/Deaf emerging adults aged 18–29 in the UK. Developed through a participatory photovoice methodology, the exhibition centres the lived experiences, identities, challenges, strengths, relationships, and well-being practices of d/Deaf young adults navigating environments where communication and accessibility needs are not always recognised or supported. Through photography and accompanying narrative text, participants explore themes including identity, communication, accessibility, belonging, resilience, exhaustion, advocacy, and layered mental well-being.
